The Rebels are currently placed third which would see them gain a bye in the Eliminator stage in the Play-Offs and then host a Semi-Final at Woodside next weekend. A win on Saturday would all but guarantee this for Aarran Racine’s side.

Last time out, the Reds defeated St Albans City on their travels and clocked their 100th league goal of the season in the process.

The first half started franticly, and the sides were level at 1-1 after two minutes. Ollie Pearce scored the opener but was quickly cancelled out by Mitchell Weiss’ leveller for the home side.

Jack Spong put Worthing back in front some 20 minutes into the contest with a glorious free-kick from 20 yards. But again, Worthing were caught out from kick-off as Dominic Hutchinson headed in from a cross from the right.

Brad Dolaghan was next to score for the Reds as he tucked away his shot after being played in behind by Joel Colbran. The Rebels held on this time and took their slender lead into half time.

By contrast, the second half was a far more cagey and tense affair but the Rebels extended their lead midway through with Spong netting his second of the match and the Rebels’ 100th of the season to earn another important three points to move up to third.

The battle for the top two Play-Off spots continues into the final day with four sides competing for the two positions. Chelmsford City, currently placed second, head to Chippenham Town, while Braintree Town (4th) host Eastbourne Borough and Maidstone United (5th) are at home against Hampton & Richmond. Just three points separates the four teams meaning that it’s all to play for tomorrow.

The Opposition

Weston-super-Mare have had a good first season in the National League South following their promotion to the division last year. The Seagulls have avoided being drawn into the relegation battle this season and will comfortably finish mid-table.

They are currently 13th in the league table and have had a busy run of late. Saturday’s match at the Sussex Transport Community Stadium will be their fourth match in a week.

On Thursday night, Scott Bartlett’s side beat Taunton Town on the road.

Team News

Aarran Racine has a couple of injury concerns heading into Saturday’s match. Nicky Wheeler has been back in training this week and could make a return to the playing squad.

While Reuben Livesey Austin suffered a groin injury in training last week and it’s unlikely the defender will feature against the Seagulls.

Happy hour will take place for home fans and will run between 12.30pm – 2pm and 5pm – 6pm. The Stand Bar will close at 6pm due to a function hire.

Supporters are invited to stay behind for the End of Season Awards Ceremony in the evening.

After the full-time whistle, the players will head back to the changing rooms before returning to the pitch for a lap of honour where supporters can show their appreciation for the squad after another play-off place finish in the National League South. Then, the players will gather close to the tunnel area where the awards presentation will take place.

The Fanzone will remain open and supporters will also have the opportunity to meet with the players, management, and coaching staff.
