The 23-year-old joins after a recent spell on loan at Bowers & Pitsea in the Isthmian Premier Division. He started this season at Billericay Town before his loan move to Bowers. Babalola found the net twice for Bowers in just four appearances, including a goal to help his side to victory against Hashtag United in the Thamside Trophy Semi-Final.
Boss Chris Agutter commented, “We are delighted to welcome Temi to Woodside Road. He’s the different type of centre forward that I felt we needed and have been looking for all summer.
“Billericay initially beat us to Temi’s signature in the off-season, however, I’m delighted that, albeit later than I would have liked, we have finally been able to bring Temi to the Club”.
Babalola made 31 appearances for Potters Bar Town last term and netted 11 goals, including a hat-trick on his debut against Berkhamsted in the Third Qualifying Round of the Isuzu FA Trophy.
The forward has plenty of experience at National League South level, having played for Hampton & Richmond Borough, Concord Rangers and Cheshunt in the division previously.
Agutter added, “With Greg and Brad unexpectedly departing on top of Ollie Pearce heading to York it left us light in forward areas. There’s a lot of goals there to replace, however with Hutch, Harrison and now Temi, on top of Cash and co I feel we’re better positioned to try and fill the considerable void that we’ve had to fill”.
Babalola’s registration is now complete and he can be considered for selection against his former club Hampton & Richmond tomorrow afternoon. He will wear the number 14 shirt for the Rebels.
