The Rebels picked up a point on their travels last weekend at Weymouth as Danny Cashman scored Worthing’s goal in the 1-1 draw. It was a frustrating afternoon for Chris Agutter’s side who weren’t at their best, despite forcing three superb saves from Will Buse in the Weymouth goal.
The result means that Worthing occupy 11th place in the National League South having played eight matches, a game less than 22 of the 23 other sides.
Last time out in the Emirates FA Cup, the Rebels won in dramatic fashion against Havant & Waterlooville. Tommy Willard and Mo Faal (on debut) netted two goals in three minutes to turn defeat into victory late on.
Team News
Joel Colbran is nearing a return to action having been back in training this week as he recovers from an ankle injury. There is a strong possibility that the club captain will be named in tomorrow’s squad.
Missing out tomorrow will be Nicky Wheeler and Sam Beard who have slight issues which have kept them from taking part in full training this week.
View from the Camp – Aarran Racine
“We’re looking forward to it. It’s another home game and a chance for us to get a run in the FA Cup. We’re just keen to get going.
“We all assessed last week in the same way, I think as staff and players we look back on it and we know we weren’t good enough. We’ve trained twice this week and worked well, so we’ll look to put it right this weekend.
“As always, we’ll look to exploit their weaknesses and make sure that we do what we do best with the ball to try to win the game”.
The Opposition
Following their drop down to step three, the Darts’ form has been somewhat indifferent, having won four and lost three of their opening seven matches. Their most recent result was a narrow 1-2 defeat at home to Bowers & Pitsea.
They currently sit 6th in the Isthmian Premier Division table, having both scored and conceded 10 goals in those opening seven matches where they’ve picked up 12 points.
Wins against Marlow and Leatherhead have earned the Darts their place in the Third Round Qualifying in the Emirates FA Cup.
