Our record against Dartford is unusual, inasmuch that the majority of our meetings have taken place in the FA Cup. On 8th October 1921 we met at the Sports Ground in a 1st qualifying round tie that ended goalless, and we lost the replay 1-0 at Watling Street four days later.

On 12th November 1927 we met again, this time in Kent in a 4th qualifying round match that we lost 3-0. Dartford lost 3-1 at home to Crystal Palace in the following round.

After 55 years, we met again, in what is (so far) the only time we have played at home in the competition proper. Paul Lelliott and Mike Cornwell scored in the second half as we came from a goal down to win 2-1 at Woodside Road in a 1st round fixture played on 20th November 1982. We lost 4-0 at Oxford United in the second round.

26th September 2009, Dartford got their revenge with a 2-1 win at Woodside Road, Jamie Brotherton netting our consolation goal. That was a 2nd qualifying round tie, so tomorrow’s match in the 3rd qualifying round completes the set!

All other encounters have taken place in National League South. On 27th August 2022 we won 2-1 at Princes Park, Callum Kealy equalising and Joel Colbran getting a very late winner, then won the return match 3-0 (Ollie Pearce, Davide Rodari and an own goal) on 28th January.

Last season, a bizarre home match on 14th November highlighted our defensive frailties as we lost 4-3 (Danny Cashman and the current York City pair of Ricky Aguiar and Ollie Pearce scoring our goals) but we made up for it by winning 2-1 at Dartford on 9th April (Brad Dologhan and Kane Wills).
