It was a frustrating Saturday afternoon for the Rebels as they were beaten by Maidstone United at home last time out. Goals from Charlie Seaman and Sam Corne helped the Stones to a 2-0 victory in front of a crowd of more than 2,000 at the Sussex Transport Community Stadium.
It’s just the second time this season that the Rebels have been beaten, with their away defeat at Truro City being the only other and Chris Agutter will be hoping for a similar response from his players. After that defeat, they won back-to-back games which kicked off a six-game unbeaten run.
Tonight, the Rebels and the Wings play catch up, with the fixture being their game-in-hand over nearly every other team in the division. Worthing are currently 16th in the league table, but a win this evening would shoot them straight up to 10th spot.

Sam Beard picked up his fifth yellow card of the season on Saturday but he is eligible to play this evening due to the suspension not kicking in for 7 days. He will miss the Rebels’ next league encounter which is at home against Tonbridge Angels on Saturday 19th October.
The Opposition
The Wings have made a somewhat inconsistent start to the campaign, having picked up 10 points from their first 9 matches. They currently sit 19th in the league table with tomorrow’s encounter with Worthing being their game in hand over most teams around them.
Recent results in the National League South have seen the Wings fall to a heavy defeat at the hands of Boreham Wood, before a defeat at home to Weston-super-Mare this past weekend. They did, however, beat third-placed Torquay United at the beginning of last month.

Supporter Information
Tonight’s fixture against Welling will see the first phase opening of our new North Stand, with the same operation as Saturday’s game against Maidstone in place.
This phase will provide home fans with access to half of the stand, from the west end of the ground down to the centre of the stand. Temporary catering and toilet facilities will be available in the N-W corner of the ground whilst work to the new N-W kiosk is completed.

Capacity is again restricted to 1,500 for tomorrow’s match, so supporters are advised to book tickets online in advance for the best chance of securing tickets. Prices are as follows:
