The Rebels of Worthing play host to the Rebels of Slough Town in the National League South tomorrow as the two sides who share the same nickname battle it out for three points.
Despite a good performance in midweek, Worthing fell short at Plainmoor against Torquay United. Jack Spong put Worthing in front towards the end of the first half, but the Gulls completed a second-half comeback to secure the points.
Boss Chris Agutter was pleased with the number of high-quality chances that his side created and claimed he was “proud” of his players despite the defeat.
It leaves them 11th in the league table coming into the weekend’s round of fixtures, sitting just two points behind tomorrow’s opponents Slough who occupy the last play-off position.
Team News
Glen Rea picked up his fifth yellow card on Tuesday night, which means he will serve a one-match suspension. However, that suspension will be served on Tuesday night at Bath City and he is available for selection tomorrow afternoon.
Agutter was without both Joe Cook and Jack Wadham for the midweek trip to Plainmoor and both remain doubts ahead of this weekend’s encounter.

“Watching the Torquay game back over the last couple of days, it got even better. But that just made the feeling of frustration that we didn’t win even stronger. So, the challenge for us is to try and reproduce that level of performance.
“We’re looking forward to being back at home and looking forward to building on our recent performances but we acknowledge it’s going to be a tough game because they are a decent side.
“They’ve made a good start to the season. They’re very direct, very aggressive and play with a higher tempo, on the front foot with two up top. It should be a difficult game, but one we’re looking forward to.
