The Rebels made it four successive wins on Monday night at Aveley, as Danny Cashman’s brace helped them come from behind to secure another important three points.
After dominating the majority of the first half, Worthing were trailing at the break after Alfie Lewis scored a wonder goal from some 45 yards, catching Lucas Covolan off his line.
With all of the work to do in the second half, it took a moment of inspiration from Cashman to get his side level, with a dipping effort from range. Five minutes later, the comeback was complete after netting at the far post from a corner.
At the time, Worthing had moved four points clear at the top of the table, but with other teams playing 24 hours later, that lead is now just one point ahead of Truro, but Chris Agutter’s side still have a game in hand.
Team News
Joe Cook and Glen Rea will both miss out through suspension on Saturday. Cook will serve the first of a two-match suspension having picked up ten yellow cards this season, while Rea will serve his third and final match suspended.
View from the Camp – Chris Agutter
“It was a really big win for us on Monday night. Aveley made it incredibly difficult. But, it was one of those games where I think if we had got the first goal, the scoreline might have been a bit more convincing.
“We’ve just got to keep looking after our own house and keep trying to improve performances. If we do that, results should be a consequence of that.
“Lee has done a very good job at Hemel. It will be a very tough test, like every game at the level. They’re in good form, but we’ve played plenty of teams in good form and ended teams’ good form. But, we’ll be very respectful of them and we know we’ll need to be at our best if we’re to win Saturday.”
The Opposition
After 10 games this season, the Tudors were leading the way at the top of the National League South, under the stewardship of Bobby Wilkinson. 11 games later, they had picked up just one more point and were plummeting down the league table in quite dramatic fashion.
Lee Allinson was appointed as manager in early December and has overseen a fantastic turnaround, winning nine, drawing four and losing three of his 16 matches in charge. They are currently on an eight-match unbeaten run, having won three successive matches.
