Following a thorough selection process, the 25-year-old has been chosen as the perfect candidate to complement the qualities of the existing coaching staff.
Dan’s appointment is the most recent step in the evolution of Jesus Cordon’s backroom team. Club legend Gemma Worsfold has also joined this summer, as she returned to Woodside Road as First-Team Coach.
Our new Women’s Assistant Manager can be described as a promising and determined coach. Despite his tender age, Dan has already gained plenty of experience in women’s football. His most recent role saw him involved with the Portsmouth Women’s U23s for the last two seasons.
Dan revealed his thoughts after making the move, citing the community aspect of the Club as a driving factor behind the switch.
“I’m really excited to take my coaching to the next step, especially at a local club that continues to grow in the community. Let’s see what we can do this season.”
“I’m quite vocal – just like JC. I think it’s really important to be able to clearly deliver the information to the players. I consider myself a good motivator, I like to keep the spirits high.”
Dan’s arrival comes at the perfect time, as the Rebels commence their preparations for the 2025/26 campaign with a friendly against AFC Portchester Ladies this weekend. Kick-off is at 2pm this Sunday at the Sussex Transport Community Stadium.
Manager Jesus Cordon shared Dan’s enthusiasm over the move and explained the process behind selecting his assistant.
“I am very pleased to have Dan working for us,” the Spaniard said.
“He really impressed us in his interview with his knowledge of the women’s game and how ambitious he is as a person.”
“Dan is a fantastic coach and I am sure he will be able to help us a lot during the season.”
Welcome to Woodside, Dan!
