On the weekend, the Rebels managed to secure a replay with Elliot Powell’s side, as they displayed some offensive resolve to come from two goals behind.
It was a dream start for Jersey as they struck first at the Springfield Stadium. Against the run of play, Rai dos Santos won a penalty after being tripped by Sam Beard just inside the box and their skipper James Queree made no mistake from the spot to give his side a precious lead.
Moments after the break, the hosts doubled their advantage through Lorne Bickley. The former Hartlepool striker managed to squeeze the ball past goalkeeper Seb Stacey at the near post to send the home support into raptures.
Worthing’s spirit was undeterred and their belief was reignited just before the hour mark. Razzaq Coleman De-Graft repeated his free-kick heroics from that comprehensive victory away to Dagenham with an unstoppable shot into the top corner from a dead ball.
The Rebels converted their dominance into an equaliser, as sheer perseverance from Temi Babalola yielded his fourth goal of the season.
Chris Agutter’s side pushed for a third to complete the turnaround but ultimately had to settle for a replay at the Sussex Transport Community Stadium tomorrow night.

“Credit to Jersey. They were well-organised, well coached and got some really good players. You can see why they’ve had to success and they’re used to winning – there’s a lot to be said for that.”
