The 27-year-old has put pen to paper on a new deal that extends his stay at the Sussex Transport Community Stadium.
Joel has been an integral part of our squad for the best part of a decade and his longevity and importance to the team is reflected by the captain’s armband equipped firmly round his bicep on a matchday.
The long-serving skipper surpassed 300 appearances as a Worthing player in the latter stages of the last campaign, as he lead the team out against Eastbourne Borough on Good Friday.
Alongside being involved in promotion-winning squads, Joel has also been consistently recognised for his efforts with individual accolades. The full-back has been named Manager’s Player of the Year on three different occasions under two different managers.

He first picked up the award at the conclusion of the 2017/18 campaign following a breakthrough season as a teenager before repeating the trick in 2023 as Adam Hinshelwood chose the all-encompassing defender again.
Under the guidance of Chris Agutter, Joel has continued to improve and is now valued as one of the most experienced individuals in the dressing room. Agi named his captain as Manager’s Player of the Year last season alongside fellow defender Sam Beard.

Joel was delighted to extend his stay at the Sussex Transport Community Stadium: “I’m grateful and delighted to commit my future to this brilliant club and I’m honoured to continue to represent it.”
Here’s to many more memories, Skip!
