The 20-year-old shot-stopper has signed a deal until January 2026, which marks his second spell with the Club.
Josh initially joined the Rebels at the start of 2024 on a loan from the Championship outfit, before suffering a serious ankle injury in the dramatic 6-4 win over Dover in February which prematurely ended his time with Adam Hinshelwood’s side.
Despite only spending a few weeks with the Club, the promising prospect made a lasting impression in West Sussex. The then teenager was awarded the Player of the Match accolade after keeping a clean sheet against Tonbridge Angels in his third match, while also making crucial saves in the other six appearances.
This season, Josh has turned out three times for Southampton’s U21’s in the Premier League 2.
His return is a timely one, with fellow loanee Seb Stacey sidelined from action for the foreseeable future with a fractured thumb. Our number one sustained the injury during Monday night’s FA Cup tie against Forest Green Rovers.
The 6’4 ‘keeper will be available for selection for tomorrow’s National League South clash away to Chelmsford City. Coincidentally, Josh’s first debut for the club was also against the Clarets.
Welcome back to Woodside, Josh!
