Our first match with Hampton, an Athenian League Division 2 fixture, was played at Woodside Road on 21st August 1971. This ended in a 2-2 draw, with Keith Cook and Russell Penticost scoring our goals.

We had to wait until after our promotion to Isthmian League Division 1 before we met again, eleven seasons later.

The home fixture that year was played at Lewes’s Dripping Pan ground, because of repair work being carried out on the Woodside Road pitch.

After four seasons in the Premier Division, we were relegated back to Division 1 and then played Hampton in that division for the following three seasons. In 1992-93 we met up again, this time in Division 2.

Division 1 was the setting for the next four encounters, before we were drawn against each other in the Isthmian League Full Members’ Cup; this was in 1999-2000, by which time our opponents had been renamed Hampton & Richmond Borough.

The entrants for this competition came from the top two divisions of the Isthmian League and it ran for eleven seasons from 1990.

After another meeting in the same competition the following season, we then played each other in a friendly prior to the start of the 2002/03 season.

In 2003/04, we were both members of Isthmian League Division 1 South. At the end of the season, the two of us were promoted to the Premier Division, following a re-organisation of the National League system.

This makes Hampton one of only five clubs that we have played in four different divisions of the Isthmian League.

Hampton & RB knocked us out of the FA Cup in 2007-08, winning 2-0 at Woodside Road in a 3rd qualifying round tie.

We have met in each of our National League South seasons, and the latest match (on 29th March this
year) finished 2-0 in our favour, Joel Colbran and Danny Cashman netting the goals.
