The weekend’s fixture will see our community come together to honour and remember our armed forces , ahead of Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day on Tuesday 11th November.
Supporters are advised to assume their position inside the ground earlier than usual, in order to ensure the commemorative ceremony is observed without disruption.
Prior to kick-off, wreath bearers will enter the pitch to lay wreaths near the centre circle, before The Last Post is played by Chris Taylor. This is a sombre bugle call historically used in the military to signal the end of the day and is used in ceremonies to honour the fallen.
There will still be a minute’s silence before kick-off and players will be wearing the Poppy on the front of their shirts.
Chairman of the Worthing Veterans Association Mark Carlisle will be in attendance, joined by Standard Bearers Caewlin Jones and Kevin Hughes.
There is also going to be fundraising for the Worthing Veterans Poppy Collection, with supporters encouraged to donate at the stadium.
We Will Remember Them.
