Another brace for National League South top goal scorer Brad Dolaghan completed the rout after Jack Spong, Toby Byron and Razzaq Coleman De-Graft breached Jack Turner’s net.
It was an opening half hour that will live long in the memory of all Reds fans as they struck four times without reply past a dejected Boro.
The visitors actually started the match brighter of the two sides, with a succession of long throw-ins from captain Ollie Robinson putting Josh Jeffires’ goal under siege. However, the Reds weathered the early and brief storm from Spencer Day’s side and it didn’t take long for them to break the deadlock.
A fast break down the right saw Coleman De-Graft burst past his marker and latch onto a loose pass. He cut the ball back to Odei, who swung a cross into the box first time into Dolaghan’s feet. Back to goal, the striker unselfishly teed up Spong and after taking a touch our number 10 drilled a finish into the bottom corner.
As soon as they took the lead, Worthing were in full control of the contest and doubled their advantage less than 10 minutes later.
In typical fashion, Byron embarked on a marauding run, used Ollie Godziemski’s run off the left as a disguise, and skipped past a number of opposition players.
All of a sudden, the defender found himself on the edge of the 18-yard box and unleashed a shot that skimmed across the surface and found its way past the despairing dive of Turner in minute 18.
Within 24 minutes, the Rebels had turned their deficit into an unassailable team. Razzaq Coleman De-Graft caught the goalkeeper out, with a swerving effort on his weak foot from an acute angle. He wheeled away to celebrate with his teammates, with the hosts riding high after an unstoppable start to the game.
They didn’t want to rest on their laurels and scored number four five minutes later. Coleman De-Graft was at the heart of the move once again, twisting past his marker and picking out Dolaghan. From a few yards out, the 20-year-old scored his 20th of the season in all competitions. Worthing elated, Farnborough dejected.
Before the half was up, Billy Clifford exited the field earlier than expected after picking up a yellow card, with manager Spencer Day not risking any chance of his experienced midfielder being sent off.
They continued their dominance into the second period and found the net for the fifth time within seven minutes of the restart. On his first start for the Club, Ollie Godziemski raced to the by-line and fired a ball across the corridor of uncertainty. Turner got a hand to it, but could only palm it into Dolaghan, who once again converted from two yards out.
Farnborough battled for a consolation and tested Jeffries on a few occasions, but the Southampton loanee stood firm to preserve another clean sheet from the Rebels.
A dominant advantage afforded Hinshelwood the luxury of handing academy prospects Reggie Lee and Ollie Vodden their first debut with five minutes remaining.
Hornchurch’s last minute equaliser at home to Enfield meant they finished the day top of the table, as Worthing go into Christmas in second place.
