1. The Club was formed in 1945 and won two trophies in their first season; The Brighton Junior Cup and The Hove & Worthing Cup.
2. Although, the following term, they suffered their all-time record defeat in a Brighton & Hove District League Division Two game, against St Luke’s Terrace Old Boys on the 2nd November, to the tune of 2-13.
3. Happier times returned in 1951-52, when they went the whole league campaign unbeaten on the way to being crowned Senior Division One Champions.
4. All the above – and more – occurred under the tutelage of the club’s first and longest-serving Manager, Bert Brown.
5. Although The Hawks have always played home games at The Enclosed Ground, it wasn’t until a Sussex Senior Cup third round replay against Crawley Town on 2nd December 1950, that they actually played on an enclosed pitch. This was achieved through the use of some dark green tarpaulins.
