Sam Gadsdon, Jake Heath and Danny O’Hara have joined the team ahead of the upcoming 2019/20 season. The trio of young sports journalists have been brought in to provide live matchday updates to the fans over social media, as well as write match previews and reports, and assist the club with other media projects.
Sam has joined the club following a successful period with the media team at Three Bridges FC, where he wrote match reports for the Isthmian South East Division side.
“I’ve found a love for non-league football after reporting for Three Bridges last season, and I’m looking to become a sports reporter in the future! I live in Crawley but it’s worth the drive through the A27 traffic to be involved here at Worthing”.
Jake joins straight out of university, having just graduated from Brunel University with a first class bachelor’s degree in Journalism. He’s a local boy and has followed the side since childhood.
“The first game of live football I ever watched was a miserable 2-1 loss to Folkstone back in 2006/07 in the pouring rain. I was hooked from day one! I’m excited to be back at my local club as part of the media team”.
Danny, already a regular at the Woodside Road, is currently studying Sports Journalism at Solent University in Southampton. He’s followed Worthing for the last six years, and loves non-league football.
“I have always loved non-league football ever since discovering it through watching Worthing and I am looking forward to getting more involved with the club”.
The trio will be involved throughout this coming season. They join the existing members of the media team: Gareth Nicholas, who writes our match reports (as you know) and other articles for the club, and Sam Caiels, who is involved in our social media and video content.
