1. K’s were formed in 1885 by the Young Men’s Christian Association, as Kingston and Surbiton YMCA, with the organisation unable to support a rugby club – the town’s dominant sport at the time.

2. Their heaviest defeat came against Ilford in 1937, when they suffered an 0-11 hammering.

3. Just four years earlier, they had enjoyed what still remains the highest crowd in the club’s history; 8,760 filling the terraces of Richmond Road for a game versus Dulwich Hamlet.

4. 5 is the magic number, in terms of Micky Preston’s appearance record, which has stood for more than thirty years and stands at 555 from 1967 to 1985.

5. Seven Anglo-Saxon Kings of England, including Alfred the Great’s son, Edward the Elder and Ethelred the Unready were crowned in Kingston between 900 and 979 AD.
