Paul will have two primary focusses: Firstly to build the clubs In Venue commercial performance so that we can generate more funds for reinvestment back into the club. Secondly to ensure our visitor experience to the ground is a safe and enjoyable one, both on match days and throughout the week.

Chairman Barry Hunter commented: “Our operational and commercial stretch has been noticeable this season and will only intensify, so this new Senior full time role is much needed. Paul’s role as General Manager, will work alongside Nathan Bowen, our Director of Football. This will mean having 2 permanent positions in the club, both reporting into the clubs board, to cover the scope of our day to day operations, on and off the pitch”

Paul’s operational and commercial management training was founded in the private health club sector. Paul was part of the management team which opened David Lloyd’s Worthing Club in 2004, from where he progressed to become General Manager of 2 large Virgin Active health and Fitness Clubs in Middlesex. Latterly, Paul has been responsible for the General Management and upgrade of Tilgate Forest Golf Centre in Crawley.

Barry Hunter commented further: ”Paul has a highly relevant background and we are fortunate to have found a high calibre Commercial Operator. The private health club sector is well versed in developing senior operating and commercial managers with a focus on member experience and good corporate governance. Added to this, Paul’s experience in the Golf course business is highly relevant with its large and diverse food and beverage, functions and events business.

I want to thank Nathan Bowen for covering some of the General Manager responsibilities whilst we searched for the right candidate. The scope of our football operations, throughout the club, has been incredibly successful, but increasingly more complex and demanding and I know Nathan, in his full time role as Director of Football, is looking forward to having back complete focus on his role.”

Paul joins the club on Monday 7th February, 2022 and said “I look forward to working alongside the exceptional team at Worthing FC and share their energy and ambition to help realise the club’s substantial growth potential for future success.”
