  • Commercial Partnerships Manager

    Location Woodside Road Stadium and remote
    Reports to Chief Operating Officer
    Working Hours Full Time – 40 hours p/w  (including evening and weekend work)

    The Role

    A very exciting opportunity has arisen at Worthing Football Club for a Commercial Partnerships Manager to join our team.

    The successful applicant will be a highly passionate and motivated individual who will play a crucial role in driving revenue growth across all corporate and commercial sales channels within the Club. This includes identifying and securing new business opportunities, building and maintaining strong client relationships, exceeding sales, revenue and profit targets, all significantly contributing to the Club’s success both on and off the pitch.

    Main Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement the sales strategy for driving club revenue, in particular sponsorship, commercial opportunities and corporate events.
    • Prospect new sponsors/partnerships to invest into the club and join us on our exciting journey.
    • Manage a business development budget to ensure revenue, costs and profitability are on target and related KPI’s are met.
    • Nurture existing and grow future partnerships to build strong relationships and ensure all partners enjoy a genuine and fruitful association with the club.
    • Create, develop, and maintain a high quality commercial brochure showcasing the exciting corporate opportunities with the football club 
    • Ensuring all men’s and women’s first team players are sponsored 
    • Ensuring all men’s and women’s first team home matches are sponsored
    • Increase 1886 Lounge memberships and upsell further opportunities for lounge members and associated partners.
    • Create and develop school and business matchday ticket schemes enabling higher match attendance and wider community engagement.
    • Work alongside the rest of the management team to inspire and motivate their respective teams to achieve increased revenue and profitability. 
    • Organise and host client events to promote the football club and develop the Worthing Football Club brand locally, regionally and Nationally.
    • Drive communications through the Media Manager via various marketing channels, including social media, telephone and public relations, to deliver successful events.
    • Attend all home men’s first team match days to look after match day sponsors and to seek out and develop new partnership opportunities.

    Key Skills and Experience

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
    • Excellent customer service skills.
    • Strong sales and negotiation skills with the ability to build rapport and close deals. A flair for entrepreneurship and thinking outside the box.
    • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
    • Proven track record in achieving and exceeding sales targets in a fast-paced environment.
    • Experience in corporate activities and events industry is desirable.

    The ideal candidate must be available to work evenings and weekends to cover match day fixtures and corporate club events as required. The position will be offered on a full-time basis. Induction and all relevant role support training will be provided.

  • Media Officer (Full-Time)

    Worthing Football Club are seeking to employ a new full-time Media Officer.

    Location Woodside Road Stadium and remote
    Reports to Chief Operating Officer, Marketing & Communications Manager
    Working Hours 35 hours per week, based around attending Mens fixtures during evenings and weekends
    Salary £20,000 – £22,000, depending on experience

    The Role

    Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of the club’s media output, ensuring Worthing Football Club and its representatives are portrayed in the wider media as ambitious, professional, current, family-friendly and committed to its community – maintaining the club’s brand, standards and values throughout.

    With specific focus, through delivery of a media plan, to support the General Manager in optimising Commercial revenues, fan engagement, match day attendance, and other key operational communications.

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for overseeing and delivering all of the club’s media content.
    • Responsible for managing a small team of volunteers within the club’s media department.
    • Support the Marketing & Communications Manager in promoting the club’s commercial avenues – venue hire, events, sponsorship, etc.
    • Daily contact with management, players and senior club staff, dealing with a variety of issues, requests and media diary management.
    • Ensure and maintain a consistent/high quality content across all the club’s platforms.
    • Provide live matchday updates for all Mens fixtures.
    • Gather content and liaise with third-party agency regarding the production of the matchday programme for Men’s home fixtures.
    • Manage website content, create written articles and ensure information is kept up-to-date.
    • Communicate with supporters regarding match tickets

    Skills and experience required

    • Experience of working in a media role within a football club at some level.
    • Excellent organisation and administration skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Excellent ability to plan but also adapt to working in a fast paced environment.
    • Excellent knowledge of social media usage and trends.
    • Ability to devise and create exciting and engaging content.
    • Full UK driving licence

    Desirables

    • A degree related to the role
    • Knowledge of design and editing software such as Adobe Creative Suite, or Figma.
    • Knowledge of the video editing process
    • Experience of website content management systems, primarily WordPress.
    • Experience of working with Google products, Gmail, Drive, Calendar, etc.
