The Mackerel Men go into the fixture having remined top of the league with two games in hand over second-placed Enfield Town and third-placed Cheshunt without playing in midweek, owing to Cheshunt’s defeat to Hornchurch on Tuesday evening.

Meanwhile, hosts East Thurrock registered their first victory of the season this week, defeating Horsham by three goals to two at Rookery Hill on Tuesday night in what has been a predominantly poor start to the season leaving them second from bottom in the table.

Last season’s premature campaign, however, saw the Rocks deny Worthing victory on two occasions:

The first meeting between the two sides back in October of last year ended 3-2 to East Thurrock at the Crucial Environmental Stadium, after Worthing had led twice through Reece Meekums and Joel Colbran.

The return fixture at Rookery Hill ended in a goalless draw filled with plenty of chances for either side, including a strike from distance from Alex Parsons which struck the post, and a header from Colbran which was cleared off the line by a Rocks defender.

Tomorrow afternoon’s match is to be played in front of a pay-on-the-gate, 600-limited capacity crowd, with East Thurrock accepting CASH ONLY.

The hosts have also issued the following safety procedures in light of COVID-19:
