The Mackerel Men go into the fixture top of the table having won 3-1 away to East Thurrock United on Saturday thanks to goals from Joel Colbran, Mo Diallo and debutant Omar Koroma, despite getting reduced to 10 men through Cam Tutt’s dismissal in the 60th minute.

Meanwhile, hosts Potters Bar sit in 14th place having recorded impressive 3-0 wins against second-placed Cheshunt and seventh-placed Cray Wanderers from their opening eight games, and most recently brushed aside a struggling Merstham by four goals to one on Saturday.

Last season’s meetings between the two sides resulted in 1-1 draws on both occasions:

Almost a calendar year ago, a George Craddock strike for Potters Bar cancelled out Reece Meekums’ opener to share the spoils at the LA Construction Stadium.

In the return fixture at the Crucial Environmental Stadium in February, a magnificent solo-goal from Potters Bar’s Marvin Morgan put the visitors 1-0 up in the first half, before Ollie Pearce equalised for Worthing in the second period to earn a point for either side.

Tonight’s match is to be played in front of pay-on-the-gate crowd with the club accepting cash only payments.

Potters Bar have also issued the following safety procedures in light of COVID-19 restrictions:

“Anyone displaying signs or symptoms of the below will not be allowed admission into the ground.”

Symptoms of coronavirus

The most common symptoms are new:

  • continuous cough
  • fever/high temperature (37.8C or greater)
  • loss of, or change in, sense of smell or taste (anosmia)

A new continuous cough is where you:

  • have a new cough that’s lasted for an hour
  • have had 3 or more episodes of coughing in 24 hours
  • are coughing more than usual

A high temperature is feeling hot to the touch on your chest or back (you don’t need to measure your temperature). You may feel warm, cold or shivery.

We will be taking everyone’s temperature at the turnstile.
