Born and bred Worthingite signed on a deal until the end of December from Brighton, where he contributed a healthy seven goals in twenty-two games for their under-18s last term. No stranger to Woodside Road, where he continues a long-standing family tradition on and off the pitch, Bailey was an under-fourteen here until joining the Seagulls as a sixteen-year-old in 2021. Having turned out against his now (temporary) teammates in pre-season, he lined-up with them for his maiden appearance at home to Welling United in a 2-0 win on 5th September. Searing pace is also one of his attributes, sealing gold in the ESAA (English Schools’ Athletic Association) 200 metres by clocking a UK fastest time in his age group of 22.56, when he was also fourteen.
