Born and bred Worthingite originally signed on a deal until the end of December 2023 from Brighton, where he contributed a healthy seven goals in 22 games for their under 18s the previous term. No stranger to Woodside Road, where he continues a long-standing family tradition on and off the pitch, Bailey was an U14 with us until joining the Seagulls as a sixteen-year-old in 2021.
Having turned out against his now teammates last pre-season, he lined-up with them for his maiden appearance at home to Welling United in a 2-0 win on 5th September ‘23.
Searing pace is one of his strongest attributes, sealing gold in the ESAA (English Schools’ Athletic Association) 200 metres by clocking a UK fastest time in his age group of 22.56, when he was still only fourteen.
Bailey rounded off the scoring in a fine 6-2 home win over then League Two Crawley Town in the Sussex Transport Senior Cup with the very last kick of his first spell here. The blistering forward came back for good upon the expiration of his Albion contract and made debut two alongside fellow newbie Joe Partington.
