Biography

Brings experience and steel to the backline after signing from Premier League Luton Town, where he made nearly two hundred appearances in seven years.

Before earning hero status in Bedfordshire, Glen started out at his home town club Brighton & Hove Albion, rising through the ranks to the U21s. Made his debut for them in an August 2015 League Cup tie at Southend United and impressed their Manager Phil Brown enough for him to sign the defender on loan a year later. However, international honours had already come Rea’s way in the form of a Republic of Ireland U21 cap against USA on 14/11/14, succeeded two days later by a maiden strike vs Russia. He would go on to accrue eight more caps.

A draw at Coventry City proved to be the beginning of a temporary time at then League Two Luton in March 2016. That transfer became permanent at the end of that term, with his first game coming against the same side who’d provided the opposition for his initially brief period in orange, Plymouth Argyle. Goal number one of a stellar pro career arrived little more than a month later at Grimsby Town.

A key part of the Hatters’ rapid rise to the top flight, Glen also reached 100 and 200 matches versus Coventry, the latter landmark coming during a season that saw him named Captain and end it with a League One title winner’s medal. A short stint at National League Woking aided his return to fitness the following year, prior to returning to his parent club and helping to keep them in the Championship.

Injury sadly punctuated his performances and brought about further loans at Wigan Athletic and Cheltenham Town in the last couple of campaigns. Although he did help the former to eventually finish top of the League One tree in 2021-22. Mutually departed Kenilworth Road in September and came on for us at Hampton & Richmond Borough on 24th October 2023, starting at Bath City on the 28th. Acrobatically headed home the winner for his first Worthing goal at Hampton on August Bank Holiday Monday ten months later
