Brought in on loan from Premier League Southampton, where he signed a three-year contract back in 2024. Joined the Saints in the summer from their feeder club AFC Totton of the Southern League Premier Division South.
Made his debut at home to Chelmsford City in January and earned Man of the Match honours in a clean sheet victory at Tonbridge Angels, in just his third appearance. Already progressed from the U18s to the U21s at St Mary’s and made his maiden AFC appearance at the tender age of sixteen, in a Southampton Senior Cup tie against Durley. Coming off the bench to maintain his team’s unblemished defensive record on the night.
The Southampton loanee rejoined the Rebels on a loan move in October after recovering from a serious leg injury that prematurely ended his first temporary spell at Woodside Road back in February 2024. After initially impressing as a teenager, Josh has quickly reacquainted himself with the home faithful, thanks to a catalogue of saves in crucial clean sheets over Hampton & Richmond Borough and Hemel Hempstead Town in the early stages of his second spell.
