Further Information
We’re gearing up for the new season: you’ll see that the Friendlies have started (although behind closed doors) and we are joining in with the representations to our regulatory bodies to agree a safe way of letting fans in.
It’s also that time of year when, having completed the preparation our budgets to plan out our income and expenditure, we are ready to issue the tickets for the new season. As with many Clubs at our level, ticket sales represent the major source of income for us to operate the club through the year and so plays a huge role in ensuring our financial sustainability.
This is important to us as we want to create the opportunity for all of our teams to have a chance to reach their full potential and we are also committed to giving the best supporter experience that we can.
Setting our ticket prices each season is a balancing act between generating important income with ensuring our supporters know we value their loyalty and to encourage as many new supporters and their families to visit as possible.
Our guiding principle this year was to have an adult ticket price more aligned with the rest of the league having had a ticket price last season below the majority of clubs. Our aim is to ensure that we continue to offer our fans an on pitch performance which, as we know from last season, is some of the best football played in this league.
Our standard adult ticket price for 2020/21 season will be £12.00.
We are holding our concessions ticket price at £8.00
We are also streamlining our junior ticket prices ( ages 6 – 16) at £3.00 and under 6s are free. We believe this will simplify entry and help our younger supporters to keep visiting.
The cost of new season tickets this year is increasing to £195, however, we have held the price down for fans renewing their season ticket from last year, so renewals will remain at £160.
Whilst no one is sure about how the season will develop this year, we are taking a proactive approach and planning for a controlled return of fans to matches. Bearing in mind that a key factor for this must be the ability to comply with social distancing controls, the improvements to our Ground, so generously funded by our community, are well timed. The second food and drinks outlet, new toilet block and re-opening the existing access in the North East corner of the ground will reduce the current need to queue and congregate in certain areas and we are developing systems to take advantage of this.
Also, we have upgraded our digital capability to introduce on line ticket sales via our web site. This means that it will be easy to get your ticket ahead of the match, print it off or download it onto your phone and be scanned in at the gate. Initially, this was to provide a more convenient way to purchase a ticket and enter the ground. However, looking at current Government Guidance, a digital ticket provides a safer cash free option and enables track and trace capability. Furthermore, if we do need to limit gate attendance, we can manage this through a pre booked ticket basis.
It’s all a guessing game at the moment, but we are working behind the scenes to be as well prepared as possible. We’ll be providing updates on progress, so keep in touch with our website and social media channels.
All the best and stay safe,
Worthing Football Club
