The prolific striker is by far and away the league’s top-scorer, with 33 goals to his name this season. Ten of those goals came in February – a month where he netted back-to-back hattricks against Dover and then Weymouth as well as scoring in the Rebels’ encounters on the road at Aveley and Welling.

The monthly accolade is his second in three months, having previously been named as Player of the Month in December, with his rich vein of form continuing into the new year.

No striker has been close to matching Ollie’s performances since the turn of the year. His February hot streak was part of a ten-game run that started at Sussex rivals Eastbourne on New Year’s Day. The 28-year-old hit the net in ten consecutive matches, scoring 18 goals along the way.

Ollie celebrates his hattrick at Weymouth.

His back-to-back hattricks proved to be critical in two thrilling encounters last month. The striker was relentless in the Rebels’ ten-goal thriller with Dover as he scored four to help Worthing to a 6-4 win.

A week later, Ollie’s goals helped the nine-man Worthing to an unlikely victory at Weymouth. Despite the disadvantage in numbers, Pearce doubled the lead before halftime from the spot before proving to be a handful on the break in the second half as he completed a remarkable hattrick on the way to a 4-1 win.

Pearce commented on the award: “I’m buzzing to have won the award. It’s been another good month, I feel like I’ve been getting into good positions and taking my chances.

“I put a lot of it down to my teammates too, they’re creating chances for me and it’s up to me to put them away which I’ve been doing. Hopefully it can continue”.
