2-1

The fixture is Worthing’s second in as many days, as they maintained a nine-point lead at the top of the table with a 3-1 over West Sussex rivals Horsham on New Year’s Day:

Although the Reds went in to half time behind by a goal to nil, a hat-trick of penalties in the second period from Ollie Pearce helped the Reds to their first victory in 2022 in front of a bumper crowd of 2,143.

Pearce’s hat-trick also took his league goal tally to 24 thus far this campaign, leading the goalscoring chart by three strikes.

Meanwhile, hosts Carshalton go into the match placed 11th in the table, most recently losing 2-1 away to Corinthian Casuals on Saturday.

Recent Meetings

The two sides last met in February of the 2019-20 voided season at the War Memorial Sports Ground:

The Robins opened the scoring in the ninth minute, before Fin Stevens equalised for the Reds ten minutes before half time.

With the game looking to end in a stalemate, Lloyd Dawes converted an injury time penalty to snatch Worthing all three points.
