The fixture is Worthing’s first in a fortnight, after their scheduled away match at Chippenham was postponed seven days ago due to a frozen pitch in Wiltshire.

The Reds’ last outing came at Priory Lane Stadium against Eastbourne Borough, where a debut goal from Liam Vincent and an Ollie Pearce strike earned all three points in East Sussex.

Meanwhile, Dartford’s match with Taunton Town at Princes Park on Saturday was also called off due to weather conditions, before another home postponement with Metropolitan Police in the London Senior Cup meant their last outing came in the form of a 3-1 defeat at home to Hemel Hempstead.

Form

Worthing currently remain in the playoff places in sixth despite the two-week interruption, with 46 points from 27 games.

Dartford sit in second place on 57 points from 28 games, three points behind league leaders Ebbsfleet United having played a fixture more:

Recent meetings

The two sides last met in the reverse fixture in late August at Princes Park:

Tom Bonner put Dartford 1-0 up inside the first half to put them a goal ahead at the interval.

Six minutes into the second half, though, Callum Kealy levelled proceedings as he turned and shot inside the area.

With the game looking to end as a stalemate, a scramble in the Dartford box fell to Joel Colbran, whose deflected effort looped into the far corner to give Worthing an injury time winner.

The Reds’ victory that afternoon was Dartford’s second and last defeat on home soil until their loss to Hemel Hempstead two weeks ago.

Team news

Saturday could see returns for both Aaran Racine and Cameron Tutt who have benefitted from the extra week’s rest following the postponement at Chippenham.

Hinshelwood looks set to be without Portsmouth loanee Liam Vincent as he continues his recovery from an ankle injury.

While young centre-back Luca Cocoracchio has signed a dual registration with Whitehawk as he looks to get more first-team minutes under his belt.

Worn both shirts

Current Reds frontman Davide Rodari returned to Woodside Road for a second loan spell away from parent club Crawley Town earlier this month, but was also loaned to the Darts earlier this campaign.

The Swiss striker is yet to net since his return to Woodside, but scored four goals in four appearances in his brief loan last season before being prematurely recalled to parent club Crawley Town.

Former Worthing winger Dajon Golding began his football career in the academy of Dartford before attaining regular minutes at then Isthmian North side, Phoenix Sports in 2016/17.

The winger-come striker joined the Reds in February 2020 from Lewes and was a member of the Isthmian League Premier Division title winning side making 42 league appearances last season, scoring 8 goals including a brace against his former side in the remarkable 5-4 league victory over the Rooks in October 2021.
