Racine was due to take charge of his first match at Dartford on Saturday but the match at Princes Park was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

Being out of action on Saturday meant that a lot of the Rebels’ play-off rivals, including Chelmsford, gained ground on the Rebels, with the Clarets, in particular, extending the gap to five points between the sides.

Worthing remain third in the table on 62 points with 11 matches to play. The Rebels have a game in hand over Chelmsford with tonight’s match a vital one at the top of the table.

The Opposition

The most in-form side in the division, Chelmsford City have been firing on all cylinders of late. The Clarets boast the best defensive record in the division and are unbeaten in their last six, winning five and drawing once.

Robbie Simpson’s side are second in the table, five points ahead of Worthing having played a game more.

The Clarets beat play-off hopefuls Aveley 2-0 on Saturday as their good form continued.

Form
2/3 – Aveley (H) – Won 2-0
27/2 – Farnborough (A) – Drew 1-1
24/2 – Yeovil Town (H) – Won 1-0

Previous Meetings

The Clarets have had the better of the Rebels on each of the last three occasions, most recently winning the reverse fixture this season 3-2 back in January despite a brace from Ollie Pearce.

The Rebels’ last win against Chelmsford came back in 2018 when James Crane netted a brace in the FA Cup 2nd Qualifying Round in a 2-1 win.

Team News

Aarran Racine will be without Nicky Wheeler, Finlay Chadwick and Tommy Willard through injury for his first match in charge. The trio are all expected to return to training this week.

Michael Klass and Reuben Livesey-Austin are both suspended for tonight’s match in Essex.
