John Donoghue’s Rebels had to share points in their last fixture against QPR in a 1-1 draw

It was an entertaining encounter between two good sides going toe-to-toe at Sussex Transport Community Stadium, with both sides creating chances with the game potentially going either way.

The result meant that the gap between the 2 sides stayed the game at 4 points. With OPR kicking off at the same time of 2.00pm on Sunday, Worthing have the opportunity to gain an advantage over the R’s

Sunday’s match is set to be a big one with the Rebels having the chance to leapfrog Norwich in the table to rise to second place and beak their 13 game unbeaten run this season.

The Opposition

The Canaries are going through an incredible run of form this season in the league going undefeated after 13 games and gaining 33 points from a possible 39 from those games. The side currently sit one place and one point above the Rebels, however the Canaries have 2 games in-hand of John Donoghue’s side.

Their last victory came on 18th February when they beat Dussindale & Hellesdon Rovers F.C. Women in an emphatic 7-0 at home in the Norfolk County Cup. The Canaries have gained maximum points from their last four league matches as they battle for the title and the chance of promotion to tier three.

The Canaries have had a change in management with the club parting ways with manager Martin Herdman and appointing Scott Emmerson as interim head coach. This Sunday’s fixture will be Emmerson’s first game in charge of the side.

Team News

Last season’s Manager’s Player Of The Season Georgia Tibble has returned to training for the past couple of weeks and could be available for some minutes off the bench this weekend.
