Captain of Lewes FC Women 1st Team, Kelly Newton played over 350 games for the club and is in the hall of fame for the most capped player for the women’s section. In that time, she has lifted 8 trophies and was voted Manager’s Player and Players’ Player on numerous occasions.

Kelly also captained the Sussex Representative side and played over 50 games for her county from the age of 18 through to 33.

After retiring from the game Kelly took up her first coaching role as Manager of Lewes FC Foundation squad in 2018/19 and in her first season the Team won the Chairman’s cup. She completed her level 1 & 2 FA coaching badges and continued to coach this young side (under 18’s) to 2nd in the league in the 2019/20 season only for it be voided because of covid. In her time as Lewes FC Foundation Manager, she oversaw 12 players move upwards and into the Development squad. Kelly will bring a pragmatic approach as well as a wealth of coaching and playing experience to the Women’s section.
