Last season’s Managers Player of Year Jesse Starkey remains a part of the squad, however he will not be available for selection for the first few weeks of the season due to work commitments.
“Jesse was superb for us last year but we’ve still got lots of good options in central areas”.
The midfielder has been present at training during pre-season but didn’t feature in any of the club’s pre-season outings.
“We’re hoping to have Jesse back available soon”. “He informed us of his unavailability in August early on and it’s something we’ll need to manage going forward”.
“He was superb for us last year but we’ve still got lots of good options in central areas”.
Similarly popular figure Alex Parsons will remain part of the playing squad, although his availability will be severely restricted due to work commitments.
“Alex has got a lot going on away from football but he’s a great character to have around when he is available”.
Signed from Bognor Regis Town in 2017 shortly after Hinshelwood’s arrival, Parsons has made over 100 appearances for the club but missed the majority of last season after picking up a serious knee injury during the opening day win over Bowers & Pitsea.
Someone who won’t be part of the squad moving forward is Pat Webber.
After being plucked from the club’s youth team by Ipswich Town, Webber ended his spell in the profressional game when he left Wigan last summer and returned to Woodside Road, going on to make 27 appearances for the Reds last season as they were promoted from the Isthmian League but after conversations with Hinshelwood has now left the club.
“Pat’s a lovely lad and was part of a memorable season for the club last season – we wish him all the best”.
